SMARTGRAFT FUE TECHNOLOGY
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), or a FUE hair transplant, is a method of extracting hair from the donor area without an incision. Because there is no incision made, FUE hair transplants have achieved popularity in the press due to advantages of FUE that include the obvious – no linear incision on the back of the head.
There is relatively no discomfort experienced in the donor area following FUE hair restoration surgery. However, swelling of the forehead where hair grafts are transplanted can be similar to standard follicular-unit transplantation (FUT) using linear harvesting.
FUE is particularly helpful for those individuals who have active lifestyles and/or wear their hair short where even a very good donor closure could still be visible to the naked eye.
It is also optimal for those who have had multiple sessions with a "linear strip harvest" and no longer have the laxity in the scalp to provide a good closure with minimal scarring.
Dr. Mascaró performs individual FUE's with a specially designed motorized hand engine as well as the SmartGraft system. SmartGraft is the most advanced minimally invasive hair restoration device for both men and women.
Developed by physicians, medical scientists and engineers, SmartGraft allows Dr. Mascaró to perform hair restoration procedures more efficiently, safely, and in less time, while delivering natural, permanent results.
Dr. Mascaró feels that with the SmartGraft system he is able to provide individualized, tailor made results while ensuring adequate patient comfort, which simply cannot be obtained with other FUE techniques such as robotic harvest.
