ThermiRF™ is a technology using radiofrequency (heat) energy in unique ways for multiple patient applications, including facial & body skin tightening and fat reduction.  ThermiRF™ is an in-office cosmetic procedure. The areas to be treated are numbed with a small amount of local anesthetic. A very small incision is made to allow the radiofrequency fiber under the skin. The fiber heats the target tissues in an effective, safe and controlled fashion. It tightens the skin and diminishes lumpy fat pockets.

What makes Thermi so great?

ThermiRF is a great "in-between" procedure.  Unlike other minimally invasive procedures, ThermiRF is the ONLY procedure that no only melts fat, but also tightens the overlying skin and underlying muscle.  When compared to other technology, ThermiRF tightens skin to a much greater extent. Lipo alone tightens skin by a factor of (8). SmartLipo tightens skin by a factor of (18). ThermiRF tightens skin by a factor of (30+).  The fat that is melted during the procedure subsequently breaks down and is naturally eliminated by the body.  As this technology relies on your bodies capability to heal itself, it can take up to a year and a half to see final results.  That being said, patients begin to see results as soon as a month - results that only continue to get better and better. As it is performed under local anesthesia, it can be used to quickly and easily tighten jowls and neck.  Dr. Mascaró prefers to do microliposuction at the time of treatment as well to help the body eliminate the broken down fat faster.  Over all, ThermiRF is a more patient-friendly approach when compared to other available minimally invasive technologies: it is easier and faster than liposuction or the Laser Neck Lift.
